Trip to BYU-Idaho

My Favorite place

I had the awesome opportunity
to drop my sister Hannah off at college this weekend.
It was such a bitter sweet trip for me,
but we definitely had a blast!

My car was packed to the very top with all of her things,
and we had the fun drive to Idaho
while listening to all our old music :)

This is the motorcycle caravan rode next to us for a while,
and Hannah waved to EVERY single one of them :)

Once we got there, we unloaded everything
and got her all settled in her apartment.
She was so cute and excited that this was her space
and her life she was beginning.

We went shopping for food and for books.
I gave her a tour around the beautiful campus
and tested her on where all the buildings were located.
THAT was fun :)
Campus is SO gorgeous and I couldn't get enough.
I felt like an old pro walking around campus.
It did make me laugh when I was checking Hannah in
and people kept asking me if I needed to register
for the Freshman check-in!
Hehe it gave me a good laugh :)

The beautiful Gardens on campus

Saturday was Hannah's 18th Birthday.
I felt bad since we had a lot of errands
to run and things to get done.
But we managed to have fun along the way.
We went to Pizza Pie Cafe with Bethany and Kami.
It was a blast with just the 4 of us.
I'm jealous that they are all going to school up there together,
they will have so much fun!

Hannah also had some of her friends from California
over for birthday cake.
It was so fun to see all of them.
They sang beautifully :)

I also got to stay with my newly married cousin Kami
in her super cute apartment.
I had a blast showing Hannah around
my old stomping grounds.
I showed her the cheap movie theater
where my roommates and I would go to see movies
when we had a bad day.
I took her to the park
where I loved to go on a warm Sunday afternoon.
I told her stories of all my dates
and the fun places they took me to :)

This trip caused me to do a lot of reflecting
about my life and friends I had in Idaho.
BYU-Idaho changed my life.
I went through some of my biggest trials,
I gained my testimony,
I made lifelong friends,
I grew the most,
and I found myself.
BYU-Idaho will always and forever
hold a very special place in my heart.
I had a small tearful goodbye
as I drove away from my home this morning :)

I'm super excited for my sister Hannah
and I cannot wait to see what this wonderful school
has in store for her :)
Good luck Hannah!

  2. I love this! I would have LOVED to have my big sister take me to college and help me get settled in. Instead, my parents dropped me off 2 weeks before school started with some friends that I hadn't seen in 6 years (weird!) and I got to move in alone... I bet Hannah is so grateful to have such an awesome sister!
